Start your journey early in the morning to Mikumi NP. The drive from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park takes approximately 5-6 hours. Enjoy the scenic views along the way, including rural landscapes and local villages. This drive offers a glimpse into Tanzanian life outside the urban environment, on the way stop for lunch at Kate Hotel. After lunch, continue your journey to Mikumi National Park. After arriving in Mikumi Board your safari vehicle for an afternoon game drive. Look out for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and various antelope species. Arrive at Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Begin trekking on well-marked trails that lead through lush forests filled with endemic plant species. Expect stunning views of the Mountain—along with opportunities to spot unique wildlife like red colobus monkeys and various bird species. Stop mid-trek around noon to enjoy your packed lunch surrounded by nature. Observe more nature along the trails while enjoying breathtaking views of valleys.
